At home with the Laynes

I got to spend the day with the beautiful and talented Tracy Layne Portraits in her gorgeous home. I had some definite home envy, their house is filled with this yummy natural light. Dad is an architect, so naturally it would be the definition of perfection. I loved hanging out and capturing all of the love that was exploding out of their hearts. You can just see the joy on all of their faces. This video encompasses all of the emotions and will make you tear up with happiness. This is what it's all about right here, these memories of the best days ever. It is so rewarding to be able to give the gift of these moments that can be re-lived over and over, even after Ollie's lego collection is collecting dust while he's off raising his own family,  Sophie's stuffed animals have been given to the local daycare center as she's off to college and Chloe's more interested in her boyfriend than ..well anything else. They will still be able to go back and cherish these little glimpses in time, when they were the center of their whole world! Seriously, the best gift ever. Don't wait to book yours, because before you know it, they'll be all grown up! Make sure you press Play !

Mick's Birth Story

When I got the call for Mick's birth, his Momma said over the phone that she was already at a 9! I dropped my kids off at the sitters and rushed over (I think I was still in my jammies)  Well turns out she was at a 9 for like 2 more hours haha, lucky for me that I didn't miss it though! We had some good conversation, I always get so excited when it comes time for baby to finally get here. Mick was so sweet, he immediately tried to open his eyes and check out his surroundings. He had the cutest upper lip too, he was just so stinking cute! A birth is always a special experience, but this was Alycia and Brock's first baby. So it was that much more important to them, I am so glad that they let me share in this life changing day with them!

Family of Four

We had so much fun during this session! We threw rocks, drew in the dirt, raced each other, shared tickles and toots (which made for some good laughs)  Family sessions tend to be a stress on the parents, especially Mom. They kept asking me "Is this normal, or are my kids unusually crazy?" I wish they knew how many times I get asked that question....pretty much every family session I shoot, the parents are embarassed by their children. Even when I get my own family pictures taken, I think to myself... "Why do they act up when it's picture time?!" So I tell you, you are not alone! That is the beauty of it though. I love to capture that chaos and show you that these are the things that you will want to remember. To look back and laugh, and miss when it's gone! Capture the crazy and revel in it, because this my friends is what it's all about!
